Georgia Light is a Coordinated Specialty Care program for young adults ages 16-30 who have recently begun experiencing unusual thoughts or behaviors; seeing or hearing things that others don’t; and having difficulties in school, at work, or with their relationships.

Program Goals

The goals include early detection of psychosis; rapid access to coordinated, team-based, specialty care; evidence-based, recovery-focused interventions; and youth/young adult-friendly services that emphasize engagement, shared decision making, and person-centered care.

Expected Outcomes

The intended outcomes include a reduction in the duration of untreated symptoms; reduction in unnecessarily hospitalizations; and improved clinical, social, and academic/occupational functioning.

    Services Offered

    Services provided include psychotherapy, case management, supported education and employment, peer support, family support and education, and medication management. American Psychiatric Association (APA) Guidelines recommend Coordinated Specialty Care for First Episode Psychosis. A comprehensive approach to early intervention helps young people achieve their goals and improves quality of life.
